The team operates worldwide, engaging with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and regional organizations, coordinating the use of spectrum with other operators, gaining country access, and promoting safety in space. About the team The Global Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for enabling and protecting Kuiper’s use of radio frequency spectrum at home and abroad, defining and leading the Project Kuiper regulatory agenda. A day in the life The Space Sustainability Engineer will evaluate complex regulatory projects dealing with satellite space safety regulations, including domestic and international regulations associated with satellite launch, operations, and deorbit, to ensure that regulations and policies are adopted that enable a sustainable and safe space environment for Project Kuiper and human use of space. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. Work closely with GNC engineers to understand flight dynamics operations processes and ensure close collaboration between Regulatory and GNC teams.Develop technical arguments to create and support Kuiper’s positions on space safety issues, including maneuverability, risk of collision with small and large objects, demise, aggregate risk, and carrying capacity.Perform analysis on carrying capacity, collision risk, reliability requirements, and deorbit methodologies.Implement high fidelity modeling techniques for analysis and simulation of large constellation concepts. ![]() Working with the Kuiper regulatory,engineering, public policy, and legal teams, you will: This position requires experience in simulation and analysis of astrodynamics models and spaceflight trajectories. Key job responsibilities We are searching for Space Sustainability Engineer who has demonstrable skills in the following areas: orbital mechanics collision avoidance risk analysis deorbit analysis, including expertise in NASA’s Debris Assessment Software (DAS) and similar tools to evaluate space operations and demise mission design of LEO Constellations, maneuver planning, navigation, and fleet operations. and around the globe, that promote sustainable development of satellite operations in space.
